Canvas Enlargements: What type of photo makes for a great enlargement?

Customers often ask what type of photo should be sent to us to make a great looking enlargement. Here are the basics:

1. A digital file is usually prefered
2. The file should be a jpeg at 300 dpi or larger
3. The file size should be at the very least 1 MB in size

I know that for many people this is very basic (and yes, very obvious); however, without meeting these basic criteria, you will typically not be satisfied with the end result. Also note that when you print a photo on canvas you are printing onto a rough surface which can help if your photo is not he highest quality. The rough surface does help hide some minor pixelation.

I would welcome any discussion or questions regarding canvas enlargments as that is what I have devoted my life to and am curious about projects others have worked on or are considering tackling.
